Recipe Card: Seafood Pancake (Home Cooking, Ep. 2)

Home Cooking highlights family recipes from international students. In this episode, home cook Kim Jae Hyun walks you through all the necessary ingredients, preparation and cooking instructions to make Korean seafood pancake.

Ingredients Required

For the pancake:

  • 1 cup of seafood mix
  • 1 cup of pancake mix
  • 1 cup of frying mix
  • 2 cups of cold water
  • 2 bunches of green onions
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.

For the dipping sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Pinch of red chili pepper flakes
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • ⅙ tablespoon minced garlic (optional)


Step 1: Add pancake and frying mix (can be replaced by all-purpose flour) to a large bowl. Add the cold water and whisk until well incorporated.

Step 2: Slice/cut green onions.

Step 3: Heat up the pan at high heat and add cooking oils.

Step 4: Change the heat to medium heat and add the mixture to the pan

Step 5: Add seafood mixture and green onions to the pancake mixture.

Step 6: Cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Flip the pancake and cook the other side until brown and crispy, another 3 to 4 minutes, and it’s all done!
