It’s the beginning of week four and spring is around the corner. The sun randomly comes out and everyone is itching for something to do. Unfortunately, with several holidays weekends in May and midterms galore, sometimes your friends are busy when you happen to be free and ready to go on an adventure. In our society, it is often emphasized that you may have to do things with other people to enjoy yourself. But here are a few ideas of things to do in Corvallis by yourself and still have fun!
Go to a movie: It may seem weird at first, but you have popcorn to yourself and can sit anywhere in the theater.
Go out to dinner: Again, it may seem awkward at first, but with only yourself to serve, the food will come out significantly faster and any leftovers are great for lunch the next day.
Go on a hike: Take a hike at Mary’s Peak or another beautiful spot for some fresh air and spectacular views.
Go to a coffee shop with a good book (or Netflix): Coffee shops like Coffee Culture, Dutch Bros, or Starbucks all have different vibes. Find one that suits your style and settle down for a bit with a delicious cup of coffee.
Go for a drive: This is a great idea for the days when it is gorgeous outside! The sun out, windows down, and the radio on makes for a great adventure for one.
Volunteer: Community service is a great way to give back to your community and doesn’t require a big group and is productive!
Go for a run: In this beautiful weather that we all hope is on the way, going for a run is a healthy way to enjoy yourself and Corvallis’ beauty.
Walk around downtown: Downtown Corvallis has cute shops and unique restaurants, so an afternoon walk with spontaneous stops in the shops or cafes makes for the possibilities of unplanned adventures.
Come up with your own ideas too! Take these ideas and see how you can make and take your own adventures to the next level this spring!
