Valentine’s Day is a day filled with love and romance. If you’re someone who has a significant other this can be a very special day. Corvallis is a small town with a limited amount of things to do. Whether you’re a sappy romantic or it’s just another day, here are some unique date ideas for you and your lover.
For the Romantics:
Dinner for two. Make a reservation for you and your significant other at a nice restaurant in Corvallis. Preferably one downtown so you can walk around afterwards. Downtown Corvallis has a lot of great shops to visit, along with some great dessert places to swing by after dinner. A lot of restaurants offer Valentine’s Day specials such as half off on drinks, or a discount on your meal if you wear pink and red.
If you’re feeling full from dinner and dessert, take a walk along the river downtown. What’s more romantic than walking alongside the moonlit water? Downtown Corvallis has a great promenade to walk along that stretches from one end of downtown to the other.
While you’re out, catch a movie. Nothing says Valentine’s Day quite like a romantic flick. Go for a romantic comedy, or catch the new Fifty Shades Darker movie at the Carmike Theatre in Corvallis off of Circle Boulevard.
For the Non-Romantics:
This day can seem like any other if you’re someone who has been with your significant other for a while, or if you just don’t care for the holiday. Here are some fun and non-sappy ways to make your Valentine’s Day just as special.
Instead of dinner for two at a restaurant, make dinner at home. Cooking with your significant other can be a great way to bond. The meal itself doesn’t have to be an extravagant five-course dinner, but even something simple can be fun. While you’re cooking, try making a tasty dessert together as well.
Instead of going to the movie theatre, rent a movie at home. If you’re not into romantic comedies, rent an action movie, or just watch Netflix. College is crazy and hectic especially around midterms, so getting the chance to sit down and enjoy a movie with your significant other can be very relaxing. None of these activities require getting dressed up and going out. Celebrating Valentine’s Day at home can be a nice change of pace.
Whether you’re a gooey romantic, or Valentine’s Day is just another day for you, these dates are easy and affordable for you and your significant other.
