The Flynn Creek Circus will be performing in Corvallis in just a couple of weeks, where they will bring a weekend full of acrobatics, magic, comedy and more.
Each year the circus travels to various places in hopes to reach more people to come and enjoy the arts and illusions that they have in store. Fortunately, the Corvallis community are no strangers to the circus arts.
According to Nikki Laumb, marketing manager and company performer, the Flynn Creek Circus have been setting up their big top tent at Avery Park since 2018.
“Circus is great entertainment for everyone, and coming to towns like Corvallis that really turn out to support the arts and enjoy the show is pretty special,” said Laumb.
The circus will feature a wide range of performances this year, such as aerial acts, contortionists from Ukraine, comedians, a record breaking juggler, and mimes.
“We feature a big variety of circus arts,” Laumb said. “Some are big and bombastic, and others draw you in to appreciate the skill and illusion.”
While some Corvallis residents may be familiar with the past acts of the Flynn Creek Circus, every year they bring a unique and original story for the audience to endure.
This year the circus will be sharing their latest creation, “The Desert Myth”.
“This year’s theme is exploring truth and perception,” said Laumb. “The owners and directors Blaze Birge and David Jones create an original narrative every year and this season’s show follows a nomad through the desert on a quest for water.”.
The Flynn Creek Circus will be performing under their big top tent in Avery Park from Sept. 21 through 24. There will also be adult only nights for those who are intrigued by the alluring and absurd.
