The annual Sustainability Fair and Town Hall will be held on March 7, at the CH2MHill Alumni Center at Oregon State University, with the fair beginning at 5 p.m. and the Town Hall at 7 p.m..
The event is free, and this year’s theme is “The Arts: A Portal to Sustainability.”
The fair will include more than 60 exhibits, each immersive and hands-on (even for your little ones) with each exhibit representing either a partnership or a team from the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
The Town Hall will include presentations, table activities and celebrations of this year’s sustainability achievements by local organizations and businesses.
According to Annette Mills from the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition, keynote presenters will include Cynthia Spencer-Hadlock of The Arts Center, representing the visual arts; Carly Lettero of Spring Creek Project, representing the written and spoken arts; and Rose Holdorf of Tarweed Folk School, representing the practical arts.
Food will also be provided by New Morning Bakery, and a jazz duo, made up of Nick Rivard and Ben Woodman, will be present.
Registration is required and can be found here, and the deadline is Feb. 29. The target audience is mature teenagers and adults but all are welcome.
“There are so many people and organizations in Corvallis and Benton County who are committed to creating a sustainable community, and this event brings them together to celebrate their work and their accomplishments,” Mills said. “It’s very inspiring.”
