Blocktoberfest 2016

Corvallis has been known to be a drinking town with a college problem. The culture of craft beer has crept its way into Corvallis and the people are loving it. With at least five breweries and counting in town, it’s no surprise that there are many events that celebrate craft beer and all it’s delicious glory.

One of these major events is Block 15 Brewing Co.’s Blocktober Festival. Months of planning by the popular brewing company turn into a German inspired block party that has become one of the premier craft brewing festivals in Corvallis.

The sounds of clinking glasses and marry talk will fill the streets of downtown Corvallis this year on October 21st and 22nd. Block 15 created this event based on the German Oktoberfest, which celebrates the changing of the season. The festival is a lively scene filled with a vast selection of beer to be paired with traditional German delicacies, such as Oktoberfest style bratwursts, bier cheese and potato soup and even German apple cake. While you’re not sitting and enjoying your craft brews with friends, you can partake in outdoor games, enjoy live music or even watch the Pac-12 football games on Saturday.

If you’re under 21, don’t worry! You can still enter the festival and stay until 8 p.m. and partake in all of the non-alcoholic wonders the festival has to offer. Events like this are great for the community and bring a sense of togetherness to Corvallis. For the past eight years, Block 15 Brewing Company has helped the community celebrate the changing of the seasons with the annual Blocktober festival.
