A look at the Vietnamese Student Association’s 50th annual culture night performances

The Vietnamese Student Association hosted their 50th annual culture night on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Oregon State University Memorial Union Ballroom. Pictured are some of the current members holding officer positions in the VSA.

The Vietnamese Student Association at Oregon State University hosted their 50th annual culture show in the Memorial Union Ballroom on March 5.

According to Kytan Van, the marketing coordinator with VSA, “The culture show in the past has always been about showcasing our Vietnamese heritage through skits, dance performances and singing.”

At this year’s event, the skit was written by VSA officers and touched on topics such as one’s self-identity, generational differences and the Vietnamese refugee boat experience.

As for the other performances, the songs and choreography for the dances were all created by members of the Vietnamese Student Association.
