Organized by the Thai Student Association, Thai Night 2023’s theme is Ngarn Wad, or Thai Temple Fair, an event that is typically hosted during Thai New Year and considered a large part of outdoor entertainment. The event is intended to capture the atmosphere of an authentic Ngaan Wat in Thailand.

According to the organization’s Instagram announcement, the night will be “a fun and entertaining event.”

The night will include popular Thai food and plenty of souvenirs for all attendees to bring home with them, as well as many activities for participants to enjoy, including traditional games and performances.

On their Instagram, TSA invites interested students to “come and have fun with us”, and offers to educate all who attend on the basics of Thai culture.

This club hosts a variety of events throughout the year, describing Thai Night as their “biggest event of the year”. It is hosted yearly around the Thai New Year, also called Songkran, which typically falls around weeks one to three of spring term.

Whether students are new to the culture, interested in expanding their knowledge or already familiar with it, they are welcome to join in on the fun, try cultural dishes, participate in the hosted activities and take home great memories of the night.

Interested students can attend on Saturday, April 8 from 6-8 p.m. in the Horizon Room within the Memorial Union. Tickets are $5 for OSU students and $8 for non-OSU students.
