Here are 7 Halloween-related events happening this week

This week is jam-packed with fun Halloween events! For this spooky season, we have created a list of Halloween events for Oregon State University students and Corvallis, Ore. community members. Put your costume on and enjoy the diverse events happening both online and on campus. This year’s Halloween happenings range from a spooky scavenger hunt to a murder mystery.

Horror Movie Trivia

The Oregon State University Program Council invites students to join them in a virtual horror movie night today, Oct. 26. The doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the event will start at 7 p.m. Join using this link or visit the OSU Program Council Instagram at @osupc

A Nightmare on Khmer Street

Join the Cambodian Student Association today, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m at the Memorial Union, room 213, to find the murderer in this murder mystery game. CSA officers will be wearing Halloween costumes, and all students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes as well.

Spooky Scavenger Hunt

Looking for an event this season where you can show off your Halloween spirit and have fun? This year, Oregon State University will be hosting a scavenger hunt where students will explore OSU’s campus through a spooky clue list. At each location, the students will find sweet treats! Once the students complete the scavenger hunt, they will be entered in a giveaway.

OSU will also provide Halloween-themed coloring pages for students who don’t want to do the scavenger hunt. Also, in this event there will be a costume contest with a goodie bag for the winner. There will be free soup, bread, warm apple cider and hot chocolate at the event.  

The event is free of charge to all OSU students and will take place this Friday, Oct. 29 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Student Experience Center Plaza, which is located at 2251 SW Jefferson Way. 

Park in the Dark

Chintimini Park will be hosting a haunted walk on Oct. 29 and 30 from 6:30 – 9 p.m. All Oregonians and visitors are invited to enjoy a ghostly experience walking through Halloween displays. 

Park in the Dark is an event put on by the Corvallis Community Center and Corvallis Parks and Recreation, and supports the Corvallis Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund. The cost for admission is $10 per person when paid in advance—get your ticket here! Tickets will also be available at the door of the event for $15 at Chintimini Park located at 2601 NW Tyler Avenue. 

Drinks and treats will be available for purchase from the Coffee Leaf Cafe. Following COVID-19 regulations, the event will require mask covering regardless of vaccination status in both indoor and outdoor settings. All visitors must be 14 years or older to participate. 

Benny’s Harvest Fest

Oregon State University will have its own pumpkin patch on campus! Come join OSU this Saturday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Student Experience Center Plaza, located at 2251 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis Oregon. There will be pumpkin carving and painting, games, a photo booth and pumpkin patch specialty foods. 

Halloween Community Night

Esports club is organizing a virtual event this Friday, Oct. 29 from 7 – 9 p.m. There will be games such as Phasmaphobia, Deceit, Valorant and Rocket League. Students can join in the Esports’ discord. The club encourages students to attend dressed as their favorite game character, monster or any other costume. 

Trick of Treat at Reser Stadium

A trick-or-treating event, presented by Safeway, is being held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31 at OSU’s Reser Stadium. The stadium is located at 660 SW 26th St, Corvallis, OR 97331. This event is for all local community members, and all are encouraged to show up in costumes!
