Springtime is here. The time when the sun comes out, hums a little tune, and then people’s muscle fibers drool with the knowledge that spring physical activity is upon them.
Once the sun comes out, there are certain activities that become more accessible for people. Students at the Oregon State University campus shared their favorite ways to engage with physical activity in the spring.

Jackie Ruff, a fourth-year environmental science major
Jackie Ruff, a fourth-year environmental science major, said she really enjoys getting to hang out in the sun during the springtime. Some specific ways Ruff said she likes to do this are picnics in the park and making flower crowns out of daisies with her friends.

Cassie Valverde, a second-year ecological engineering major
Cassie Valverde, a second-year ecological engineering major, said that two of her favorite ways to move in the springtime include mountain biking and rugby. Valverde also explained how she enjoys hiking and running outside.

Alyce Conroy, a first-year chemistry major
Alyce Conroy, a first-year chemistry major, said that her favorite way to move in the springtime was by biking. Conroy said that some of the spots she bikes to are classes and Greenhouse Coffee and Plants coffee shop.

Thai Guerreiro, a second-year computer science major
Thai Guerreiro, a second-year computer science major, said that his favorite way to move in the springtime is walking. Guerreiro said that they don’t necessarily have a favorite location to walk, but they just enjoy wandering.

Mrinal Bharadwa, a fourth-year computer science master’s student
Mrinal Bharadwa, a fourth-year computer science master’s student, said that his favorite ways to move in the springtime are to walk and hike around. Bharadwa said he really enjoys finding places to sit back, relax, and rest.

Jacob Neistadt, a first-year civil engineering major
Jacob Neistadt, a first-year civil engineering major, said that his favorite way to move in the springtime is yard games with his friends. Neistadt said he enjoys games such as cornhole, spikeball, hacky sack, and disc golf.

Hank Lawit, a second-year environmental science major
Hank Lawit, a second-year environmental science major, said that walking was one of his favorite ways to move in the springtime. Lawit described that they liked going out to the covered bridge along Campus Way in Corvallis.

Luke Garrett, a second-year mechanical engineering major
Luke Garrett, a second-year mechanical engineering major, said his favorite ways to move in the springtime are hiking and playing pickleball with his family. Garrett said that one of his favorite places to go hiking was Silver Creek Falls.
