Description on Scheduler: Examines the history, culture, and styles of the Native American Flute. Practices music making with the Native American Flute with an emphasis on self-expression. Compares indigenous oral tradition to current trends and personal experiences.

WLC 220 – Francophone Cultures in Film: Colonial Wars and Independence Movements in Francophone Films

Description on Scheduler: Explores the diverse cultures within the Francophone world through the lens of cinema. Includes engaging films that depict the socio-historical, political, economic, and cultural contexts of French-speaking regions, focusing particularly on the themes of colonialism, decolonization, and post-colonialism. Examines various regions, including North and Sub-Saharan Africa, and Vietnam, providing a comprehensive understanding of the impact of colonial and independence movements. Taught in English.
