As Corvallis is slowly starting to get warmer, with temperatures reaching 70 degrees some days, more students can be seen spending time outside. Whether it be laying in McNary field with friends or tossing a frisbee, students seem to enjoy soaking up the sun.
An Oregon State University student shared that many students can be seen enjoying the nice weather around campus.
OSU students shared some of their favorite activities to do during springtime.

Morgan Gros, a second-year kinesiology major
Keeping up with work in the spring can feel like an even bigger chore. Gros said she likes to take her work outside. “I feel like I’m always busy studying so I just like to study outside,” Gros said.
“My favorite thing is definitely swimming in rivers … I love paddleboarding (in Foster Lake). It’s really fun,” Gros said.
The river in Avery Park is the go-to spot for many students, but throughout Oregon you can find plenty of rivers to cool off in.

Elliot Nash, a second-year economics major
“I gotta say there’s a lot (of) rollerblading,” Nash said.
“I’m actually not lying (when I say) grass rolling,” Nash said. Just laying back and connecting with nature is an excellent way to blow off some steam.

Tim Kirnan and Emilio Calderon, third-year civil engineering majors
“(Calderon and I) are both in ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers), which is a transportation engineering club so anything related to bikes is kind of our thing,” Kirnan said.
Calderon, who is also a part of the ITE club, said he enjoys going out on his bike with friends during warmer weather.

Tyler Meissner, a fourth-year mechanical engineering major
“During springtime, I love playing volleyball, spikeball, football and frisbee. Anything that’s very action based,” Meissner said.
“(I also enjoy) hammocking, chilling sometimes (and) reading,” Meissner said.

Conner Flynn, a third-year economics major
“I play a lot of soccer,” Flynn said.
“I like to ride my bike too (and) a lot of climbing,” Flynn said.

Quinn Roth, a third-year computer science major
“(I like) biking, hiking, rock climbing,” Roth said.
“Just being outside, reading outside is great (during warmer weather),” Roth said.

Camilia Chen, a third-year biochemistry major
“Definitely frolic in nature,” Chen said. Simply walking around and taking it all in is how Chen enjoys the sun.
Chen said she enjoys frolicking in nature when it’s nice and sunny out. She also said going on a walk is a good activity to do as spring comes around.
“Taking a walk is easy and you can do it whenever,” Chen said.
“During springtime, everyone’s outside,” Chen said.

Grace Chong, a third-year kinesiology major
“For springtime, probably just taking a walk,” Chong said.
These OSU students had lots of different activities to do during warmer weather.
There are many hiking trails close to campus ranging in difficulty. Taking a stroll through Bald Hill or Mary’s Peak can help students stay active and connect with nature.
There are multiple intramural sports starting soon that students can join. Students can also rent equipment at Dixon Rec Center and take it to the field to play a game with friends.
