On a chilly winter morning, a few Oregon State University students shared their favorite holiday traditions that they partake in over Winter break.
The holidays look different for everyone and consist of a variety of memorable traditions. Five OSU students shared how they spend their time over break and the traditions that make it a fun and relaxing time.

Mya Andrews, a second year student majoring in Kinesiology
Mya Andrews, a second year student majoring in Kinesiology, said her and her dad wake up extra early on Christmas morning to get coffee together.

Clayton Green, a third year student majoring in Biohealth Sciences
Clayton Green, a third year student majoring in Biohealth Sciences, enjoys going skiing with his family and friends at Mount Hood.
“I just like being around everybody,” he says.

Kyran Turner, a first year student majoring in Philosophy
Kyran Turner, a first year student majoring in Philosophy, watches Home Alone every year with his family and has a big Christmas dinner.
They have a wide variety of foods set up each year. “What don’t we eat at Christmas dinner,” Turner says, “It ends up just being a massive pile of foods, turkey, every vegetable under the sun, Christmas pudding, or chocolate pudding for most people who hate Christmas pudding.”

Natalie Bauman, a second year student majoring in interior design
Natalie Bauman, a second year student majoring in interior design, has a big breakfast on Christmas morning with “French toast or cinnamon rolls, eggs, sausage, and bacon,” Natalie says, “yeah he goes all out.”
After breakfast the family opens gifts together, going around opening one by one.

Jayden Nelson, a first year student majoring in Marine Biology
Jayden Nelson, a first year student majoring in Marine Biology, has an extensive weekend baking with family.
“Me and my siblings and all my cousins go to my Grandma’s house three days before Christmas, and we bake whatever we want, and we make plates of it and give it around the neighborhood,” Nelson shares.
